West Seattle GC
32nd West Seattle Amateur
July 16-17, 2022
🏁Final: 32nd West Seattle Amateur from West Seattle GC in Seattle, WA. The West Seattle Amateur is a 36-hole amateur championship featuring over 140 players and is a WA Golf performance points recognized event.
Sean Packer, who has called West Seattle his home course since 2019, captured the title with rounds of 70-68. (Yes, that’s me winning the title. Here’s a link to my announcement from the launch of NW Golf Report). Packer’s highlights included birdies on three of his final four holes to finish Round 1 and holing a chip-in eagle on West Seattle’s scenic par 5, 12th hole in the final round to jump to the top of the leaderboard. Packer, the 2021 West Seattle Club Champion, is the first West Seattle player since 2009 to win the event.
After more than 1,700 posts, countless tweets/stories and creating nwgolfreport.com to glorify the winners of NW tournament golf, it feels especially sweet to win! West Seattle was in tremendous condition and the tournament committee at West Seattle GC staged an excellent event.
I won with a 910D3 Driver, G25 3 wood, 708 AP2’s, mix matched wedges and a 2005 era Cleveland putter. I want to put myself on camera more as nwgolfreport.com grows. If anyone can kick the clubs in my bag out I’d love to film/review/showcase newer equipment.
West Seattle GC is also the annual home of the final round for the Seattle Amateur. This year’s Seattle Amateur is scheduled for September 3-5, 2022.
