Oregon Mid-Amateur concludes at Pumpkin Ridge Ghost Creek

Tough conditions and rain played a big part of the story at the 36th Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship contested at Pumpkin Ridge’s Ghost Creek course in North Plains, Oregon. Tye Gabriel of Portland, Oregon, the 2022 Oregon Amateur champion, captured the men’s title with rounds of 66 – 77. Gabriel’s round of 66 in the rain of Round 1 featured 7 birdies and 1 birdie. Finishing 1 stroke behind Gabriel were Zach Foushee of Portland, reigning Oregon Amateur champion among other victories in 2023, and Charlie Stankiewicz of Bandon, Oregon.

In the women’s division, Monica Vaughn recorded a 4-stroke victory with back-to-back rounds of 74. Vaughn is a 2016 Curtis Cup team member and played in the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open.

Oregon Chapter PGA – Chapter Championship Results

May 7

Hunter Wescott of NW Golf Guys captured the 2024 Oregon Chapter PGA – Chapter Championship in a 1-day, 36-hole tournament contested at Willamette Valley CC in Canby, Oregon on May 6th. Wescott shot rounds of 69-68 for a -7 total and a 2-stroke victory. (Photo: Oregon Chapter PGA)

PNGA Lamey Cup – Preview

May 7

British Columbia versus Idaho versus Oregon versus Washington. Seattle Golf Club. Ryder Cup style format with sessions of Foursomes, Four-Ball and Singles. Mid-Amateur men, Master-40 men, Senior men, Mid-Amateur women and Senior Women. The PNGA Lamey Cup always has it all! One of the region’s most unique events tees off Wednesday, May 8th at famed Seattle Golf Club in Shoreline, Washington. The Oregon Golf Association has the most wins in the history of the event.
