📚College Golf in Action: Grays Harbor College Men’s Collegiate Invitational from The Home Course in DuPont, Washington. 36-hole men’s event is the first event of the 2022-2023 season for four of the NW’s collegiate teams.

Lucas Clapp of Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, Oregon approached The Home Course’s 7th hole in Round 1 at even par. Clapp, from Caldwell, Idaho, knew the water at the end of the fairway was in play with a normally struck driver. Rather than hitting less club, Clapp opted to hit driver but used a much more unusual setup for taking some distance off. Video of Clapp’s drive in tournament play from his KNEES is below:

Clapp hitting driver from his knees

Clapp’s coach at Southwestern Oregon Community College filmed the shot and explained “it’s a perfect 230-240 yard shot for him. Works well on short Par 4’s that aren’t driver holes.” The driver from the knees led to a par on the 7th hole. Clapp followed up the par with a birdie on The Home Course’s 8th hole and turned in even par.
