13th Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

July 20-21, 2022

šŸFinal: 13th Washington Menā€™s Mid-Amateur Championship from The Home Course in DuPont, WA. 36-hole WA Golf championship for players over age 25.

Tom Brandes, age 65, captured his third Washington Mid-Am win. Brandes, a PNGA Hall of Famer, shot rounds of 67-71 to match Paul Mitzel of Quincy, WA at the end of regulation. Those scores do not capture the dramatic finish. Mitzel had a two-stroke lead on the final hole and made a par. Brandes holed a 180-yard, 7-iron on The Home Course’s par 4, 18th hole for an eagle! In the playoff, Brandes birdied the first playoff hole to complete his remarkable finish.

Brandesā€™ flair for the dramatic only adds to his unmatched career record. Among other accomplishments, Brandes is an 11-time WA Golf Senior Menā€™s Player of the Year.
