🏁Final: Joe Lenberg Invitational from Apple Tree GC in Yakima, Washington. 18-hole high school event featured a massive field with 107 golfers from 24 different schools represented. Cold temperatures and high winds challenged the entire field.
In the team competition, utilizing the top four scores from each school, Central Valley High School won the team title. Central Valley posted a total of 319 for a close one-stroke victory over Kamiakin HS. Central Valley was led by Brock Johnson’s round of 77 and also counted scores from Andy Shumway, Chase Sturgis and Mason Hughbanks. Schools of various WIAA classifications were in the field.

Brady Komstadius, a senior from West Valley High School, won on the first playoff hole to lift the individual title. Komstadius and Kamiakin’s Wyatt Hansen both posted scores of 74. In the playoff, Komstadius won with a par on Apple Tree’s 18th hole.

One of the first tournaments of 2023 in Central Washington, the Joe Lenberg Invitational represents only the start for tournaments in 2023 at Apple Tree. On the 2023 NW Tournament Schedule at nwgolfreport.com, more tournaments at Apple Tree can be found. On April 15-16, 2023 Apple Tree hosts its annual Spring Two-Man Best Ball. Later in the year, Apple Tree is the site of the NWAC Championships and the all-new WJGA Joel Dahmen Invitational.
