College Golf – Women

NCAA D3 National Championship

May 9 – 12, 2023

🏁Final: NCAA Division III National Championship from Mission Inn Resort & Club’s El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The national championship tournament made headlines due to severe course setup and unplayable hole locations. The 72-hole championship was shortened to 54-holes to determine a champion.

Top team finishers

The George Fox University Bruins, champions of the Northwest Conference, won the first national title in program history. Appearing at the national championship for the 13th consecutive year, the Bruins secured a five-stroke margin of victory. It took a full team effort in topping Division III’s best teams as three Bruins players finished in the top-15 individually. In the championship’s final nine holes, the four scoring players finished the back nine with a score of two-under par.

Liana Brown led the Bruins individually with a t7 individual finish. Makensie Toole, the 2021 NCAA D3 individual national champion, finished in t13.

From the George Fox University athletics website:  The Bruins are just the third women’s golf program west of the Mississippi and the first school in the Pacific Northwest to win the title.
